'Tloral obviously has a
connotation of the
sea,” says interior
designer Michelle
Morgan Harrison of
Atlanta. “It's a happy
color; it gives life and
brightness to a space.”
EASY DOES IT
Unless you’re a diehard
coral fan, this hue is
more versatile as an
accent than a wall color.
“I typically use very pale
colors on the wall and
then the strength
always comes from the
furnishings,” Harrison
says. A small armchair
upholstered in coral,
for example, adds just
enough brightness.
COOL COMPANIONS
"Because coral can be
so bold, vibrant, and
hot, it requires the
contrast of something
cool and calming,” says
Harrison. Peacock blue,
sage green, khaki, and
putty are all good
partners for coral
because of their cool
undertones.
ALL THE

White is a natural with
coral for wall trim,
furniture, and
accessories. Harrison
loves a coral sofa with
white piping for a crisp,
preppy look.
